Q: |
What does a Lapels cost? |
|
A: |
Our Express Service is approximately
$33,000, our store is approximately
$60,000 and our full service plant is
approximately $250,000. The type of
facility, leasehold improvements and
exact equipment package will affect
the exact cost. |
|
Q: |
What are the cash requirements? |
|
A: |
For our express service and drop store
you will need a minimum of $20,000 liquid
assets. For our full service plant you
will need a minimum net worth of $250,000.
Approximately $50,000 of your net worth
must be liquid assets, defined as those
that can be converted to cash within
30 days. |
|
Q: |
Is financing available? |
|
A: |
Yes, we can assist you in obtaining
financing either with your local sources
or with one of the lenders with whom
we work. |
|
Q: |
Do I need prior dry cleaning experience?
|
|
A: |
No, while experienced people are welcome,
prior knowledge of the dry cleaning
industry is not required. Our training
program is designed to prepare you for
all aspects of managing and operating
your Lapels Franchise. |
|
Q: |
What sort of training is provided? |
|
A: |
One of the greatest reasons for Lapels
success is our initial training and
ongoing support. We will have you train
in our training store and then bring
that same trainer out to your store
for additional training and support.
We will be with you during your soft
opening to guide you through the day
to day operations. |
|
Q: |
Can I be an absentee owner? |
|
A: |
We are firm believers in the "owner
behind the counter" being a distinct
advantage of Lapels. The only exception
would be with either managing partners
or multi-unit operators or area developers. |
|
Q: |
How do I find a location? |
|
A: |
The dry cleaning business is very much
driven by convenience. It is essential
to a store to be in a great location.
We take site selection very seriously.
Our real estate team will run extensive
demographics on the area of your choice
and find the best suitable site available.
We can also assist in the negotiation
of your lease agreement. |
|
Q: |
How much money can I make? |
|
A: |
Results typically vary from location
to location. We encourage you in your
due diligence to talk to other franchisees
to get a sense of what you can expect.
You might also consult industry publications,
the SBA, Dun & Bradstreet and other
independent sources. |
